Healthy Fruit and Veggie Smoothies
Whether you want to boost your immune system or energy, lose weight or build muscle, or if your goal is to maintain your health, smoothies are the perfect quick and energizing meal. Healthy fruit and veggie smoothies are easy way to nourish your body with essential nutrients and keep you on the right track towards good health. Our body needs vitamins, minerals and enzymes that raw food contains and fruit is a good source of many cardio-protective nutrients, such as fiber, vitamin C, folate and potassium. It also nourishes and protect your skin.
Different fruits and veggies combinations can be made to make healthy smoothie recipes, with so many different variations. Green vegetables like kale, spinach, collard greens, and lettuce which are nutrient powerhouses can be added as well. When blended in a smoothie, the nutrients in these leafy greens are released and readily absorbed into the bloodstream. Green vegetables are also excellent sources of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll replenishes and rebuilds red blood cells and fight cancer while improving liver detoxification, improving digestion, weight control and protecting skin health. By creating your own smoothie at home means you get to choose a base of your liking.
A lot of people like smoothies. All you need is a blender, fruit, vegetables and a base, such as water, milk or yogurt. Water will provide your body with fluid that is necessary for metabolism of food and transportation of nutrients. Low-fat milk or low-fat yogurt, which will add flavor and nutrients without a huge number of calories. It also reduces consumption of tea and coffee (coffee overdose is dangerous!).
If you want to increase your nutrient intake and aid fat loss with natural ingredients, then do indulge in healthy smoothie recipes.
